At the invitation of the Eurasia Partnership Foundation, on June 2, 2023, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Armenia H.E. Mr. Kalin Anastasov took part in the Annual Media Awards ceremony organized by the Foundation in partnership with the Embassy of Netherlands in Armenia. The theme of this year's awards was "Tolerance towards religious and national minorities and their peaceful coexistence".

At the presentation of the award to journalist Lilit Hovhaninsyan for the film and dedicated to Yezidi women and their life from the era of the USSR to the present day, Ambassador Anastasov addressed the participants and guests of the ceremony with the words:

“Let me first express my gratitude to the Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF) for giving me the opportunity to be part of this year's awards ceremony for the best media coverage of the topic of tolerance towards religious and national minorities.  I believe that by being here today, each one of us will further encourage the artists of Armenia to continue sincerely and with their great professionalism to reflect the tolerance, peaceful coexistence and diversity in Armenia, these are values ​​and way of life of the Armenian society with which it should be proud of and which make it an inseparable part of the civilized world, a world in which we must all contribute to the development of a tolerant and respectful attitude of society towards minority communities.

Yezidi women are one of the most vulnerable groups in Armenia, facing many challenges and difficulties. It is important that we continue to work together to ensure that these women receive the support and protection they need. Anyone who dedicates time and effort to be part of the ongoing process of affirming women's equality and their rights deserves our admiration and respect.
