Ambassador Pavlova participated in the opening of a greenhouse built with the support of Bulgaria

Maria Pavlova participated in the opening of a greenhouse in the village of Bjni, which was constructed within the framework of the project "Welcome to Organic Kotayk", funded by the Bulgarian official development aid program. The main objectives of the project are to introduce a viable model of social entrepreneurship and sustainable development in the kindergarten in Bjni, to raise the awareness and skills of project participants in the field of organic farming. The products of the greenhouse will be used in the children's daily diet to provide high quality food for children. In addition, the greenhouse will be used as an experimental field and laboratory for students from schools in Kotayk in their practical classes in natural history and botany/phytology.
The opening event was attended by Kotayk region Governor's Adviser Artavazd Barsegyan, Charentsavan Deputy Mayor Vardges Chilingaryan, Administrative Head of Bjni Hovhannes Andreasyan, Bjni Council of Elders Yerem Sahakyan and representatives of the NGOs implementing the project. Amb. Pavlova and the guests were acquainted with the main stages of the construction of the greenhouse and the technological phases of organic vegetable growing.
In her welcoming speech Mrs. Pavlova thanked the leadership of the Kotayk region for supporting the NGOs' initiative to promote women's entrepreneurship and sustainable development in the region. She expressed admiration for the strong engagement of women in Bjni, who are the driving force behind valuable initiatives to support inclusive education and economic growth. Amb. Pavlova highlighted the value of the project, which combines the implementation of key development priorities in rural communities, such as supporting women's entrepreneurship and initiatives, promoting sustainable agriculture, inclusive education and the healthy lifestyle.
