The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco, with the support of the State Institute for Culture at the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Los Angeles, is proud to present the 2nd Annual San Francisco Bulgarian Film Festival. The organizers of the festival - Konstantina Chilingirova, Ognian Gavrilov, Peter Kopralev, Vassil Mladjov and Simeon Boyd, are proud to continue the tradition of this event to promote Bulgarian cinema among the multicultural community of the Bay Area. Most of the films for the festival are provided by the State Institute for Culture at the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Consul General of Bulgaria, Mr. Marin Dimitrov, will be the guest of honor of the festival and will be present for the opening ceremony on April 18, 2014.
The film selection for this year includes five feature films and three documentaries -- masterpieces of Bulgarian contemporary cinema. The documentaries will be shown for free to the audience holding a VIP pass or a ticket for at least one feature film on the same day. There will be art programs during the intermissions showcasing Bulgarian performing artists from the Bay Area. The Brava Theater, where we started this tradition last year, will host the festival again this year.
The Brava Theater is located at 2781 24th Street, San Francisco, CA 94110.
Please join us for a celebration of Bulgarian cinema and performing arts in the vibrant community of San Francisco!
