Newly opened embassy in Abu Dhabi hosts reception to mark the 3rd of March

The newly-inaugurated Embassy of Bulgaria to Abu Dhabi hosted a reception to mark Bulgaria’s National Day on March 6th of this year.
The festive event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Shehab Al Fahim, the Director of State Protocol Department at MFAIC Saed Al Khamzi; officials from the Ministries of the Economy, Defense, the Interior and the Office of the President; members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the United Arab Emirates. Among the guests were friends of Bulgaria from the academic circles, the cultural elite, the media and the business community. All attendees received a gift of martenitsa for good health and good luck.
Shehab Al Fahim conveyed to Ambassador Bogdan Kolarov special greetings on the occasion of our National Day on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Anwar Gargash. The Deputy Minister underscored the satisfaction of his country with the invigoration of bilateral contacts at all levels and the opening of an Embassy of Bulgaria in Aby Dhabi.
To the tune of the Bulgarian national anthem, the Flag of Bulgaria was raised side by side with the flag of the UAE. In his address, Ambassador Kolarov told the attendees about the significance of the National Day and thanked the local authorities and the members of the diaspora for their collaborative work. He mentioned the stable links between Bulgaria and the UAE and the prospects in both countries for deepening cooperation in the areas of business, tourism, and investments.
The centrepiece of the evening was the music program featuring a joint dance performance by two local folk troupes, Zdravets and Bulgara, during which part of the guests joined in the horo[circle dance].
