Bulgaria’s Participation in the 49th Baghdad International Fair

From 1 to 7 February 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Iraq took part in the 49th Baghdad International Fair, within which a Bulgarian National Pavilion was organized.
The Pavilion presented Bulgaria’s opportunities in the fields of trade and economic cooperation, investment, and business partnerships, as well as elements of Bulgaria’s cultural, historical, and tourism heritage. Bulgarian companies, products, and services with export potential to the Iraqi market and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq were showcased.
During the Fair, numerous meetings were held with representatives of Iraqi institutions and the private sector, demonstrating interest in cooperation across a number of sectors, including agriculture, food processing, mechanical engineering, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, cosmetics, healthcare, electronics, automotive industry, and others.
The activities of the Bulgarian National Pavilion were attended by Mr. Valentin Nikolov, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Iraq, Mr. Vasil Vasilev, Head of the Trade and Economic Affairs Office, as well as representatives of the Bulgaria–Iraq Business Council affiliated with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Pavilion also featured cosmetic products of “Bulgarian Rose Karlovo”, presented by the company’s official importer to Iraq.
As part of the accompanying program of the Fair, the Iraq–Bulgaria Business Forum was held on 4 February 2026, focusing on opportunities for enhancing bilateral trade and economic cooperation, including B2B meetings between business and institutional representatives of both countries.
The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Iraq continues to support efforts aimed at promoting economic relations and facilitating contacts between Bulgarian and Iraqi businesses.
