Opening Night Gala of Bulgarian Concert Evenings in New York

On October 24, 2023, the opening gala concert of the initiative Bulgarian Concert Evenings in New York (BCENY) was held in Carnegie Hall. It was in honor of BCENY Board Member Ted Popoff on the occasion of his 90th birthday.
The audience enjoyed the beautiful performances of Mariana Karpatova, mezzo-soprano, Stanichka Dimitrova, Joanna Maurer and Georgi Valtchev, violin, Lev "Ljova" Zhurbin, viola, Wolfran Koessel and Alberto Parrini, cello, Lora Al-Ahmad, Aleksandar Hadzievski, Anna Stoytcheva and Lora Tchekoratova, piano. Music by Goleminov, Prokofiev, Tabakova (US Premiere), Schubert, Brahms, Gershwin and others was performed. Representatives of the Bulgarian community, many American guests and other admirers of classical music were present.
This season the Consulate General will again host many of the upcoming concerts of Bulgarian Concert Evenings, which attract the classical music connoisseurs in New York.
