An evening with Bulgarian and Georgian Music and Dances in New York

On October 22, 2023, the Bulgarian folklore ensemble Gorana and the Georgian Dancing Crane Company presented national songs and dances in New York. The festival was dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and the United States.
The event was presented by Elissaveta Iordanova, founder and artistic director of the Gorana ensemble. The artists performed a beautiful dance bouquet of some of the most popular and exciting dances from both countries. One of the dances, called Colors of Love is a result of a 5-year collaboration between the two ensembles.
The Bulgarian Consul General Mr. Angel Angelov greeted the performers and the audience and emphasized that this international festival is an illustration of the role cultural diplomacy plays in the promotion and celebration of Bulgarian culture in the U.S. He also conveyed greetings from his colleague, the Consul General of Georgia in New York Ms. Maia Bartaia, who could not make it to the festival due to an important prior commitment.
