The Consul General Angel Angelov visited the Bulgarian School in Nantucket, Massachusetts

The Consul General of Bulgaria in New York Angel Angelov, visited the Bulgarian Sunday School in Nantucket, Massachusetts on October 8, 2023. He met with the Bulgarian community, the students, their teachers and parents and discussed with them the successes and challenges in the school's efforts to introduce the children to the Bulgarian language, culture and history. The students presented interesting facts about Bulgaria and danced Bulgarian folk dances.

The Consul General gave a presentation to the Bulgarian community about the activities of the Consulate General in various areas and in particular about its cooperation with the Bulgarian schools and the promotion of Bulgaria and its achievements.

Referring to the presentation of one of the children about the contribution of John Vincent Atanasov, the father of the computer, Mr. Angelov noted that John Atanasov was born and raised in the US, but with his contribution he made our country famous, pointing out that the Bulgarian children in the US can also be a source of national pride.

The Consul General was a guest at a breakfast organized by the older students and discussed with them the work of the Bulgarian diplomatic service and the UN. The children's intentions for professional development after finishing school were also discussed.
