Concert of Yasna Voices Choir in New York

On April 17, 2023, a concert of Yasna Voices Women’s Choir was held at Lang Recital Hall at Hunter College in New York City. The Consul General in New York Mr. Angel Angelov had the pleasure to attend the concert.
The Yasna Voices Choir was founded in 2002 by Vlada Tomova, vocalist, songwriter and organizer of master classes in Bulgarian folk singing. The choir features Bulgarians and Americans who share their love for Bulgarian national traditions and folk songs. Their performances integrate traditional folk songs, artfully arranged a cappella pieces in the style of the “Mystery of Bulgarian Voices” and improvisations that reveal the power of the unaccompanied voice.
The concert included famous Bulgarian folk songs such as “Bre Petrunko”, “Polegnala e Todora”, “Lem Pero” and “Dilmano, Dilbero”.
