Welcome to the page of the Embassy of Bulgaria in New Delhi, India. Here you can find useful information about all countries of accreditation to the Embassy, namely India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka, as well as news related to the activities of our mission in Delhi.

Diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and India were established in 1954, and the first Bulgarian diplomatic mission in Delhi started operation in 1955. In the early 1980s, the Embassy shifted to its own property, located in diplomatic area of the city - Chanakyapuri.

The Embassy’s team is tasked to support the efforts of the Bulgarian government to upgrade and modernize the traditionally good relations with India, which have always been conducted in a spirit of partnership and fruitful cooperation. We are also providing support for the strengthening of the political and sectoral cooperation with the other countries of accreditation, with which Bulgaria has always maintained friendly relations. Another important commitment of our Embassy is to provide adequate and competent consular services, given the increased interest of the people of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka to travel and reside in Bulgaria. Last but not least, our team is tasked with the mission of upholding the image of Bulgaria and promoting our country in the most densely populated region of the world, which has become increasingly important in the last years.
