Opening of the School Year at Gergana School in New York and a Concert by the Children's Vocal and Theater Formation “Talasumche” at the Consulate General

On September 10, 2023, Gergana School in New York opened its 20th anniversary school year. The celebration of the beginning of the school year was accompanied by the performance “The Three Fairies and the Sleeping Beauty” by the children’s vocal and theater formation “Talasumche”, based in Bulgaria.
The Consul General of Bulgaria in New York Mr. Angel Angelov welcomed the teachers, parents and students at the first day of school and emphasized its significance as a symbolic connection with the two important national holidays in September - the Unification and the Independence.
During the current school year 22 first-graders will study at the school. They received their first textbooks at the celebration.
On September 13 the children from the vocal and theater formation “Talasumche” opened the cultural season at the Consulate General with an impressive concert. It was attended by representatives of the Bulgarian community, teachers and parents. The performances of the young artists were enthusiastically applauded by the audience. The visit of the “Talasumche” formation to New York was organized by the community of Gergana School on the occasion of its 20th anniversary.
