Сelebrations in honor of General M.D. Skobelev were held at the Peter and Paul Fortress in Saint Petersburg on the 16th and 17th of September.

The main events during these days were welcoming the president by the Chairperson of the Skobelev’s Committee and the report of the visit in the summer of 2016 around the Skobelevs’ Locations in Bulgaria.

Many historians and students took part in the scientific element of the event. They devoted their presentations to the talent of the White General during the Russo-Turkish 1877-1878 Liberation war.

The event ended with a laying of flowers at the monument of heroes in the fortress where Skobelev was born.
