An outsourcing visa centre opens in Doha, Qatar, on November 1 to assist people from the Persian Gulf to visit Bulgaria.
The centre offers people information on tourism opportunities in Bulgaria.
“I am delighted that business people and tourists from this very promising region will have an easier and more convenient way of travelling to Sofia,” Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nickolay Mladenov said.
“The recently-launched Doha-Sofia-Doha direct flight was an indication of Qatar’s business interest in our country. At the moment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism are preparing a presentation on investment and tourism opportunities in Qatar, which will be unveiled in March next year,” Minister Mladenov said.
The Visa Centre in Doha, which will be operated by VFS Global, is being established on the basis of an outsourcing agreement signed on September 30 this year.
The contract enables the issuing of Bulgarian visas in Gulf countries where Bulgaria does not have diplomatic or consular representation. A system to cater for Oman and Saudi Arabia will begin in coming months.
