The exhibition "Bulgaria A Bird's-Eye View" was presented in New York
On occasion of 6 May – Bulgarian Army Day and feast of Saint George and 24 May, celebrating Bulgarian language, the Cyrillic alphabet and Saints Cyril and Methodius, the exhibition “Bulgaria A Bird’s-Eye View” was presented in New York. The opening at the Permanent Mission of Bulgaria to the UN was attended by ambassadors of UN member states, representatives of the UN Secretariat, and members of the Bulgarian community, and was hosted by Ambassador Gergana Karadjova.
The exhibition “Bulgaria A Bird’s Eye View” presents a curated selection of 25 large-format photographs by Alexander Ivanov showcasing the beauty of Bulgaria’s natural and historical landmarks. The photographs take viewers on a journey through picturesque and awe-inspiring aerial shots taken from a hang glider over hundreds of kilometres of various regions of Bulgaria. The opening of the exhibition was covered by the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA).
“These national holidays reflect the strength of the Bulgarian spirit, our historical memory, and our cultural identity. They remind us of the importance of knowledge, of spirituality, courage, and responsibility for what legacy we leave to future generations,” Ambassador Karadjova said in her welcoming remarks. “In a world marked by challenges and divisions, culture and art continue to be a universal language of understanding, dialogue, and mutual respect. That is precisely why such events are important – they build bridges between nations and remind us of the power of cultural diplomacy,” Ambassador Karadjova added.
The exhibition “Bulgaria A Bird’s-Eye View” is part of the “Traveling Exhibitions” initiative of the State Institute for Culture to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. To date, it has been presented in Chile, Italy, Tunisia, Denmark, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, the UAE, Spain, Canada, Romania, Indonesia, Norway, Germany, and Egypt, and most recently Valencia at the initiative of the Consulate General of Bulgaria there.
