09/05/26

The opening of the exhibition “Peace as an Object – From Invisible to Visible” will take place on 12 May 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Mission Gallery at the State Institute for Culture to the Minister of Foreign Affairs featuring. The exhibition is organised together with the students and professors of the Department of Scultpture at the National Academy of Art in Sofia. The project is lead by Assoc. Prof. Tsvetoslav Hristov.

The exhibition presents the works of professors and students of the Department and offers a reflection on a current global atmosphere of conflict both military and interpersonal. The sculptures materialise peace as a tenable, visible phenomenon that is part of contemporary society and is essential for the existence of humanity.

War in the eyes of art is an image of violence, of the price of life, but of hope for peace, too. Through sculpture, the artists share their outlook on various facets of the universal human condition. The exhibition invites viewers to consider peace as a necessary part of interpersonal human relationships.

The exhibition “Peace as an Object – From the Invisible to the Visible” is part of the “Art for Peace – Invisible, Visible Traces” program at the Department of Sculpture of the National Academy of Art and is included in the commemorative events marking the 20th anniversary of the State Institute for Culture to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the 130th anniversary of the National Academy of Art.
