Exhibition dates: 11 March 2026 – 26 March 2026

The State Institute for Culture to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the Soleil Foundation, presents the third edition of the international exhibition “Directions 3”, dedicated to cultural exchange and to events organized within the framework of Francophonie Month.

The exhibition will be officially opened on 11 March at 6:00 PM at the Mission Gallery. The forum continues the tradition of bringing together artists from different countries and promoting the values of the Francophone cultural space – dialogue between cultures, mutual understanding, and the development of contemporary art through the sharing of ideas and artistic explorations.

The exhibition presents works by established artists from Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Albania, Greece, Germany, and France, created during the International plein air painting symposium held within the International Francophone Festival “Soleil”. The plein air session took place from 31 May to 8 June 2025 in Sozopol and is part of the long-standing activity of the Soleil Foundation in promoting international artistic cooperation.

Through their participation in the plein air, the artists exchange creative ideas, establish professional contacts, and contribute to strengthening intercultural dialogue among Francophone countries. The artworks bear the individual style of their authors and are inspired by the maritime atmosphere, rich history, and contemporary development of Sozopol – a place that has long become a natural meeting point of different cultures and artistic traditions.

Over the years, the international plein air events organized by the Soleil Foundation have brought together more than 200 artists from nearly 10 countries. The event reinforces its role as an important cultural forum that provides a platform for both established artists and university-level art educators and specialists, facilitating the exchange of experience between generations.

The exhibition “Directions 3” is part of the Francophonie Month programme, which traditionally promotes cultural diversity, language cooperation, and friendship among the peoples of the Francophone community through a series of cultural initiatives.

The exhibition can be viewed until 26 March at the Mission Gallery on weekdays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
