CELEBRATION OF THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FULL MEMBERSHIP OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA IN THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION OF FRANCOPHONIE

13/03/23

The event is part of the Program to mark the 30th anniversary of the full membership of the Republic of Bulgaria in the International Organization of Francophonie, which is being realized under the patronage of the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria Mrs. Iliana Yotova

The "Directions" exhibition shows some of the works of artists who have participated in the last eleven years in the international plein air exhibitions organized by the Soleil Foundation within the framework of the International Francophone Festival Soleil, which takes place every year from 3 you until June 8 in the city of Sozopol. This year will be its twelfth edition, dedicated to 30 years of Bulgaria's membership in La Francophonie.

The host of the exhibition is the State Cultural Institute to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The curator of the project is Alexandrina Isailova, president of the "Soleil" Foundation.

Over the years, nearly 200 artists from 10 countries have participated in the plein air. Each of them presented in their paintings their worldview, hopes and expectations for the future, according to nationality, ethnicity and religion. The international plein air is a meeting place for high class artists. Many of them are professors in art schools. Their rich life experience, creative overlays, contacts with young people, the opportunity to see and feel life in different parts of the world opens up a field for wide and free artistic expression. Plein airs allow the artists participating in them to establish contacts with their colleagues, to exchange professional experience and above all to share creative inspirations.

The international Francophone festival "Soleil" opens up new opportunities for them, as the path of their works continues even after the plein airs are over. The paintings created by them have participated in exhibitions in Paris, Prague, Brussels, Warsaw and Sofia.
