The State Institute for Culture is a Partner of the Seventh Edition of the

The official opening of the seventh edition of the "Poetry on the Subway" project took place on November 15, 2022, Tuesday, at 6:30 p.m. in the Ancient Cultural and Communication Complex "Serdika" - under the dome of Largoto. The project was presented by Prof. Amelia Licheva, editor-in-chief of "Literaturen Vestnik" and Ivona Yakushko-Dudka, director of the Polish Institute. The representatives of the institutions and embassies participating in this year's edition, as well as the author of the Bulgarian poem - Georgi Gospodinov, read the original works.

The project includes poems dedicated to peace and freedom by authors from 14 EUNIC Cluster Bulgaria member states and associated institutions: Erich Fried (Austria), Georgi Gospodinov (Bulgaria), Rainer Maria Rilke (Germany), Yannis Ritsos (Greece ), Henrik Nordbrand (Denmark), Sean Leysacht (Ireland), Rafael Alberti (Spain), Valerio Magrelli (Italy), Adam Zagajewski (Poland), Manuel Alegre (Portugal), Ana Blandiana (Romania), Sergiy Zhadan (Ukraine), Sandor Petjofi (Hungary), Vladimir Holan (Czech Republic).

The poems will be presented from 14.11 to 23.12.2022 in the subway cars and subway stations: Sofia University, Vasil Levski Stadium, NPP-Tsarigradsko shose, Lomsko shose, White Danube, Lion's Bridge, Serdika II, NDK, European Union, Vitosha, Nadezhda, Princess Maria-Louisa.

The project was initiated by the Polish Institute in Sofia and "Literaturen Vestnik" with the participation of EUNIC Cluster Bulgaria members: the Austrian Embassy, ​​the State Institute for Culture at the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Goethe-Institut, the Embassy of Greece, the Embassy of Denmark, the Embassy of Ireland, Cervantes Institute, Italian Cultural Institute, Camoinche Institute, Embassy of Romania, Embassy of Ukraine, Liszt Institute, Czech Center.

Partners are: Sofia Municipality, Bulgarian National Radio and Bulgarian National Television.
