The Bulgarian Martenitsa will be Among the First Exhibits in the New Building of the National Council of Nigeria for Arts and Culture

Ambassador Yordanov visited the National Council of Arts and Culture of Nigeria at the invitation of the Director General of the institution Otunba Ramsue. During the conversation, the possibilities for more active cooperation in order to mutually promote the cultural and historical heritage of the two countries were discussed.

On the occasion of March 1, Ambassador Yordanov presented the General Director Otunba Ramsue with a Bulgarian martenitsa and briefly presented the message of this Bulgarian tradition. The Nigerian country appreciated the thematic gift and its symbolism in the context of some similarities with customs in regions of Nigeria. Director-General Ramsue announced plans to relocate the institution he heads to a new building within a few months, which will feature shop windows with exhibits representing the cultural traditions of other countries. The Bulgarian showcase with the martenitsa donated by Ambassador Yordanov will be one of the first in the new building of the National Council of Nigeria for Arts and Culture.

Opportunities for cooperation such as Bulgarian participation in the annual festival of arts and crafts in Abuja and other events and visits were also discussed during the meeting. Abuja is one of our active embassies in EUNIC.
