The MASTER OF ART 2020 FESTIVAL starts with an online edition

     The fifth edition of the Master of Art Documentary Film Festival will be held in two parts: an abbreviated online edition in April and a full edition from September 1 to 24, despite the pandemic situation.

    The State Institute for Culture to the Minister of Foreign Affairs is the institutional partner for the first year of this unique cultural event - the only Eastern European International Documentary Film Festival in Eastern Europe.

   From April 9 to 30, fans of the seventh art will be able to enjoy over 25 feature films, as well as short titles included in this year's edition of "Master of Art", whose motto is "Embrace Art". Access to the films from the program is guaranteed from anywhere in the country through the neterra.tv platform. The total price of all titles from the online festival is BGN 10. The fifth edition of "Master of Art" will present many exciting and interesting stories about the talents that have left their mark over the years, the creative processes and trends of contemporary art.

    The special selection of films of this year's edition will offer the best of documentary cinema in the following fields of art - "Architecture and Design", "Art and Children", "Contemporary Art", "Culinary Art", "Fine Arts and Photography". "Literature", "Music and Dance", "Theater and Cinema". Another film will be premiered online - "The Elemental Medea" by director Nayo Titsin, who collects the most interesting moments in the process of two years of creating the theatrical spectacle "Medea". Other movie titles you'll touch online include Okuda's Balance, which tells the story of the meeting between the avant-garde and the Okuda tradition, Abstract Art: Clifford Style, Conversation with Romi Schneider for a unique and never-published interview with Schneider in December 1976 and many others.

    Two more films won the MASTER OF ART - AURUBIS AWARD: "I'M GOING HOME - JIMMY SCOTT", chosen as the best film of the festival in 2017, and "THE GREENWAY ALPHABET" by director Saskia Bodeke, which was awarded for best film at the festival in 2019, will be part of the online edition of "Master of Art". The winner of the award for the most beautiful film from the edition of "Master of Art" in 2017 - "I, Claude Monet", will also be available online.

The State Institute for Culture supports the realization of a concert and the guest appearance of an Italian-French film in September - "MAESTRO - IN SEARCH OF THE LAST MUSIC", Italy, France (2016), 74 min., Directed by Alexander Valenti, dedicated to music composed in the scary la of death - the Nazi concentration camps.
