Visiting scholarships for representatives of arts and culture in Austria in 2017

The Federal Chancellery of the Republic of Austria, in cooperation with KulturKontakt Austria, is granting 50 visiting scholarships to representatives of arts and culture to go to Vienna and Salzburg in 2017.

The programme aims to promote cultural exchange with the countries of Eastern and South Eastern Europe by introducing participants to the diversity of the Austrian cultural scene and arts and facilitating the establishment of a professional dialogue with local artists. The scholarship provides participants with the cost of their stay in Vienna or Salzburg, and the activities in the programme include visits to galleries, studios and museums, contacts with the literary and publishing sectors, cultural events and musical events.

The program allows participants up to 40 years of age who have not participated in previous initiatives organized by KulturContact Austria or the Federal Chancellery and Ministry of Education of Austria to participate in one of the following disciplines for a period of one to three months:
Visual arts; Art photography; video and media arts; science and technology; musical composition; literature; literature for children and youth; translation of fiction; education in the field of culture.

This invitation is open to candidates with permanent residence outside Austria who have completed their professional training or have at least five years of experience as free artists. Knowledge of German or English at working level is mandatory.
