The Book "Stories from Three Continents" Brought Together the Diplomatic Community
On October 21, 2024, the gallery "Mission" at the State Institute for Culture hosted the premiere of the book "Stories from Three Continents. Wives of Diplomats Share Their Stories." The event, part of the "Writing Diplomats" program, attracted a wide audience, including representatives of the diplomatic and cultural elite of the country.
The book gathers the personal stories of six wives of Bulgarian diplomats, who share their experiences and impressions from life in different parts of the world. The authors Maya Konstantinova, Anna Georgieva, Manya Kostova, Gergana Yosifova, Nina Todorova, and Yuliana Mladenova offer emotional and sincere narratives about life on three continents, covering themes such as cultural differences, social challenges, and political realities.
The event began with a welcome address from the Director of the State Cultural Institute, Ms. Snezhana Yoveva-Dimitrova, who congratulated the attendees and emphasized the significance of the book as an important cultural project. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elena Shekerletova also addressed the audience, highlighting the vital role of diplomats and their families in shaping Bulgaria’s positive international image.
Next, Ambassador-at-Large Dimitar Mihaylov presented the book, underlining the uniqueness of these personal stories, which reveal not only the professional aspects of diplomatic work but also the human side. Among the official guests was a representative of the "Bulgarian Writer" publishing house, who praised the professional work of the editor Boyan Angelov and the team that worked on the book.
Some of the authors also shared their experiences: Anna Georgieva spoke about life in Belgium and Cyprus, Maya Konstantinova presented her experiences in Africa and Nigeria, Manya Kostova talked about her impressions from Japan and India, and Yuliana Mladenova shared her time in China.
The book "Stories from Three Continents" offers an exciting and in-depth look into the lives of Bulgarian diplomats and their wives while revealing the cultural diversity of the world.
