Documentary Exhibition "150 Years of the Bulgarian Exarchate"

On April 19 at 11.00 in the exhibition space on the 7th floor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be presented the documentary exhibition "150 years of the Bulgarian Exarchate", prepared by the Institute for Historical Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences to mark the significant anniversary of Bulgarian history.

The panels trace historical processes and related events from the church-educational movement. They outline the importance of the Exarchate for the formation and maintenance of the Bulgarian national consciousness within the ethnic boundaries of the Bulgarian historical land. There is also a place for its patriotic hearths - spiritual centers and educational centers, for jubilee celebrations and celebrations, for valuable sponsorships and manifestations of public activity.

Numerous documents and photographs show the preserved folk memory of prominent writers, clergy, benefactors and public figures who gave their tribute in defense of the Bulgarian church, language and culture.

The materials used were selected by the State Agency "Archives", National Library "St. Cyril and Methodius ”- Bulgarian Historical Archive, Macedonian Scientific Institute, Thracian Scientific Institute, Church Historical and Archival Institute, Foundation of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in Istanbul, separate books, albums, periodicals from the era, electronic resources, etc.

The visit to the exhibition will take place after prior registration on tel. 0889005082, due to the need to comply with anti-epidemic measures. The initiative is of the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs and aims to activate the representative space on the 7th floor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by visiting representative exhibitions of diplomatic missions and regional museums and galleries in the country.
