The Beatles' 1965 song "Yesterday" is the best song in the history of mankind according to the ranking of the financial portal 24/7 Wall Street, BTA reports, quoting Lenta. The chart was compiled taking into account sales, the stay in the hit parade of "Billboard", the number of covers and the popularity of the song among music lovers. In the Billboard singles chart Hot 100, the song lasted 11 weeks. The author of "Yesterday" is Paul McCartney, whose refrain in the song I accepted as a motto of this exhibition: "I believe in yesterday… I long for yesterday…"
Yesterday is the closest to today, because tomorrow is uncertain, unclear, even impossible. "Today" tomorrow will be "yesterday". Although close in time, the memories of "yesterday" are irretrievable past moments, which are sure to be unique. Visualizing them in works is a form of archiving, as well as a desire of the artist to keep them in his mind for as long as possible. The exhibition is dedicated to the imperceptible past time, which changes our philosophy and worldview of the present day.
Marieta Konova's paintings are chronological notes of a series of meetings, travels, plein airs, places that the author observes and seals in memories recreated through the means of painting. The works represent the subjective understanding and perception of the world, the personal worldview of the author, reflected in the moving and transforming emotion. Portraits carry magnetic energy and sensitivity, act tangibly or suggest one or another spontaneously reflected impulse. Landscapes and interiors encode certain states and thus go beyond their usual aesthetic function - they are inhabitable, inhabited by life and human presence, they become a shared memory.
The works are united by the characteristic emotional color perception of the author, which harmoniously combines the desire for authenticity and spiritual "presence" of the depicted objects. An essential part of the picturesque imagery is the contrasting color and pattern.
The vernissage of the exhibition will take place according to all measures of distance and disinfection.
