Bulgarian monuments in the UNESCO World Heritage List presented in Dublin

The photo exhibition “Bulgarian monuments in the UNESCO World Heritage List” was opened on 4 June 2008 in the exhibition space of the renovated building of the European Commission and European Parliament delegation premises – the European Union House in the centre of Dublin. The event is organized by the Bulgarian Embassy in Ireland and is part of the “Travelling exhibitions” programme of the Institute for Culture. The opening was attended by the Head of the Delegation of the European Commission in Dublin Mr. Michael Territt, the Head of Delegation of the European Parliament Frances Jacobs, the Member of Parliament Michael Kennedy, statesmen, intellectuals and artists, diplomats and Bulgarians living in Ireland.

Welcoming speeches were delivered by the Head of Delegation of the European Commission Michael Territ and the Bulgarian Ambassador in Ireland Emil Yalnazov. They stressed on the similarities between the message of the exhibition reflecting the rich cultural and historical heritage and natural resources of Bulgaria and the preservation of the cultural diversity in Europe as one the objectives of the European Year for Intercultural Dialogue. The Head of Delegation of the European Parliament in Dublin Frances Jacobs shared his personal impressions from the natural and historical sights he visited in Bulgaria. The exhibition will be open for visitors till 21 June 2008 and is expected to be attended by many of the people that come to the European Union House at the centre of Dublin.
