Opening of the Exhibition "Morocco in Pictures" on the Occasion of the Month of Francophonie

On the occasion of the International Day of Francophonie, which is celebrated on March 20, on March 10, the exhibition "Morocco in Pictures" with photographs of students from the 9th French Language School "Alphonse de Lamartine" was opened in the exhibition space on the ground floor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The photographs in the exhibition were taken during a trip of students to Morocco to participate in the international festival FICAP.

The official guests at the event were H.E. Ms. Zakia El Midaoui, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Bulgaria and Chairman of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors in Bulgaria, Mr. Emmanuel Samson, Director of CREFECO, Ms. Snezhana Yoveva, Director of the State Institute for Culture, Mr. Angel Bandzhov, Director of the Human Rights Directorate, Ms. Emilia Bogdanova, Director of the 9th French Language School, Ms. Vyara Lyubenova, Chairwoman of the Association of Teachers of and in French, Ms. Elina Topalska from the dance formation "Sophistik - Zhivo". The State Institute for Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a partner of the event.

"This exhibition is another expression of our desire to share the beauty and cultural wealth of Morocco with the Bulgarian audience. We thank everyone who participated in its creation, as well as our friends from the French High School for their inspiring work and the hosting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Institute for Culture," said H.E. Ms. Zakia El Midaoui, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Bulgaria.

“This exhibition is the first event in the month of Francophonie in our Ministry and not only shows the beauty of Morocco, but also builds bridges between different cultures, which is the basis of cultural diplomacy. Through culture, we strengthen relations between peoples and create a space for mutual understanding and cooperation,” emphasized Ms. Yoveva, Director of the State Institute for Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Visitors had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the charm of the colorful world of Morocco - from the bustling streets of Marrakech, through the majestic Atlas Mountains, to the secluded corners of Zagora and its surroundings.

Performances were presented by the choir of the French High School, as well as the talented dancers from the dance formation “Sophistique - Zhivo”, who performed an authentic Moroccan dance.

The exhibition will be open until March 31, 2025.
