For a Consecutive Year, an International Event During the Month of Francophonie at the "Mission" Gallery
The State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the "Soleil" Foundation, is organizing for the second year an international exhibition on the theme "Directions 2", as part of a number of cultural events during the month of March - the month of Francophonie.
The event will open on March 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the "Mission" Gallery. At the opening of the exhibition, French musical works will be presented, performed by Nikola Rupov, a student from the French Language High School "Alphonse de Lamartine".
The curator of the project is Ms. Alexandrina Isaylova, President of the "Soleil" Foundation and the main initiator and organizer of the International Francophone Festival "Soleil", which is held every year in the town of Sozopol in early June.
The representative exhibition includes 24 paintings created during the next edition of the International Plein Air, held within the framework of the Thirteenth International Francophone Festival "Soleil" in Sozopol in the period 31.05 - 08.06.2024. The works were created by eminent artists from Bulgaria, the Republic of North Macedonia, Albania, Georgia, Portugal, Greece and France - Nadezhda Karapencheva, Ivan Rusev, Ralitsa Mircheva, Nina Ruseva, Momchil Georgiev, Lilia Baleva; RNM - Marian Dzin, Ivo Petsov, Petra Jovanovska, Ralitsa Laceska; Ricardo Viera and Walter Pratas - Portugal; Guga Kakabadze - Georgia; Emmy Behari - Albania and Remy Amoir - France.
Each painting expresses in its own way the soul and creative possibilities of the respective authors, inspired by the place – the beautiful seaside town of Sozopol – through its rich cultural and historical history, natural features, population and promising present. The participation of artists from the mentioned Francophone countries in the International Plein Air provides an opportunity for an active and fruitful exchange of creative thoughts, useful contacts and intercultural dialogue are created, which continues long after the end of their stay. Foreign participants become our loyal friends and ambassadors around the world, reminding through their work of the boundless expanses and will of their talent. Over the years, over 200 artists from 10 countries have participated in the plein airs organized by the Soleil Foundation. The International Plein Air is a meeting place for high-class artists. Many of them are professors at higher art schools. Their rich life experience, creative overlays, contacts with young people, the opportunity to see and feel life in different parts of the world opens up a field for broad and free artistic expression. Plein-airs allow artists to establish contacts with their colleagues, exchange professional experience and, above all, share creative inspirations.
The exhibition can be viewed until April 16 at the "Mission" gallery every weekday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
