Screening of the film "Flying with Fins" at the European Film Weeks 2024 in Helsinki
Within the European Film Weeks 2024, on 9th of October 2024 at Eurooppasali in the European Commission Representation in Finland was presented the Bulgarian documentary “Flying with Fins”. European Film Weeks are organized by the European Commission Representation in Finland and the European Parliament Liaison Office in Finland, together with the embassies and cultural institutes of EU countries.
"Flying with Fins" is a film about the constant search for meaning in art and life. Alzek Misheff, artist, rebel and experimenter, leads us in this philosophical and aesthetic journey through time, space and ideas. The film, directed by Maria Averina, who is well-known for her award-winning documentaries, received the prestigious Best Bulgarian Documentary Film Award at the Master of Art 2024 Festival, presented by the State Institute for Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria.
In the presence of Mrs Maria Kokkonen, Deputy Head of the European Commission Representation in Helsinki, representatives of the Embassy and a Finnish audience, Ambassador Nina Simova gave a brief introduction to the documentary, which was very well received by the audience.
