The exhibition "Bulgaria and the Mosaics" was opened at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest
On October 8, 2024, the exhibition "Bulgaria and the Mosaics", created for the State Institute for Culture to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria by the Balkan Heritage Foundation, was presented at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. The presentation was combined with the 6th Meeting of the International Regional Conference on the Understanding, Preservation and Restoration of Contemporary Mosaic Heritage, held in Budapest, in which Dr. Angela Pencheva from the Balkan Heritage Foundation also participated.
The official opening of the exhibition was made by H.E. Hristo Polendakov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Hungary. In his speech, he emphasized the significant role of Bulgaria in the research, preservation and promotion of mosaic heritage in Southeast Europe, and also dedicated the exhibition to the Day of Bulgarian-Hungarian Friendship, which is celebrated on October 19, as a testimony to the strong cultural ties between the two countries and a symbol of the excellent relations between them.
The exhibition "Bulgaria and the Mosaics", provided by the State Institute for Culture, consists of a printed and digital component - 26 panels, combined with a QR code, giving access to detailed information about the presented objects, their location, institutions and organizations that contributed to their inclusion, as well as short popular science texts related to the history, samples, problems and practices for the preservation of mosaic art in Bulgaria. Through the combination of traditional and modern technologies, the exhibition offers a fascinating and interactive experience and immersion in the magic of Bulgarian mosaic art.
