On the Occasion of May 24, the Mobile Exhibition "Miraculous Icons and Holy Relics of the Balkans" Visited the city of Brest, Belarus
On the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture and Slavic Writing, on May 23, 2024, the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Belarus organized in the city of Brest (350,000 inhabitants) a presentation of the mobile exhibition "Miraculous Icons and Holy Relics of the Balkans", kindly provided by the State Institute for Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as photographs with beautiful views from Bulgaria.
The exhibition was organized jointly with the Folk Art Club "Heritage" at the Brest City Center for Culture, as well as with the assistance of the local branch of the "Union of Entrepreneurs, Employers and Craftsmen". The exposition was presented in the House of Culture of Trade Unions in the city of Brest. The event took place with great interest on the part of the local cultural community and was widely covered by SMO (Brest TV "Laguna" and the print edition "Vechren Brest").
Ambassador Georgi Vassilev opened the exhibition with a speech in which he highlighted the contribution of Bulgarian cultural achievements during the Middle Ages to the development and consolidation of the Christian cultural tradition in Europe and among Slavic-speaking peoples.
Ambassador Vassilev awarded certificates of honor on behalf of the Embassy to representatives of the cultural community of the city of Brest and prominent local artists, who contributed to cooperation with our country in the cultural sphere.
