Exhibition “The Ancient Treasures of Bulgaria”

The exhibition “The Ancient Treasures of Bulgaria” is prepared by a team of the Institute of Balkan Studies & Centre of Thracology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences under the National Scholarly Program “Development of Bulgarian Studies Abroad”. The exhibition includes a total of 26 posters (70x100 cm). They show photographs of artistically crafted gold and silver objects of exceptional historical value – precious vessels, jewelry, weapons and other artifacts discovered on the territory of contemporary Bulgaria. Among them are masterpieces from the world-famous Panagyurishte treasure, objects from the Varna Chalcolithic Necropolis (5 th millennium BC) as well as artifacts from the Borovo,Valchitran, Letnitsa, Rogozen and other treasures. These objects are invaluable evidences of high artistic style in antiquity and amaze with their remarkable ornamentation and exquisiteness.

The exhibition is presented in partnership with the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The exhibiton will be part of art program in bulgarian embassies in foreign countries - Warshaw,Abuja, London and others.
