On September 29 the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in our country, His Excellency Alejandro Polanco closed the exhibition "The Image of Don Quixote Through the Ages. Publications from the collection of the National Library" officially prepared by the Embassy and our National Library. The exposition was exhibited in the representative space of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for nearly two months. Deputy Minister Kostadin Kodjabashev, diplomats and guests from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the co-organizers from the State Institute for Culture of the Minister of Foreign Affairs attended its finassage.
The exhibition was created to celebrate the anniversary of the death of one of the world's greatest writers, the Spaniard Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. It aims to present a series of illustrations of the characters and their adventures in the novel Don Quixote, through the interpretation and imagination of various artists who worked on the first editions of the book.
Ambassador Polanco talked about the different early editions of The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha - Spanish, English and French and revealed the specifics of the varied styles of their illustrations. He noted that diplomatic work resembles the life of Don Quixote, using a quote from the book: "The more one travels, the more one sees and the more one knows."
