The Bulgarian poet and translator Elisaveta Bagryana was included in the cultural-tourism project "Writers' Route" under the auspices of the Forum of Slavic Cultures (FSK) in Slovenia. It is an initiative dedicated to women writers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, supported by the European Institute for Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (CoE).

Currently, the "Way of Writers" Association, established in 2017, has 16 members from the ranks of the FSK - from Slovenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Russia, Serbia, Poland and Montenegro. Partner from the Bulgarian side is "Kliment Ohridski" SU, which proposed the inclusion of El. Bagryana (1893-1991). Among the non-Slavic countries that have expressed interest in joining the project are Portugal, Norway, Austria and the Netherlands.

Among the other writers and poets represented within it are Zofka Kveder (Slovenia), Marina Tsvetaeva (Russia), Divna Vekovich (Montenegro), Maria Konopnicka (Poland), Desanka Maksimovic (Serbia), and others.

The purpose of "Way of Women Writers" is to connect the work and life of female authors from Europe, presenting them in a dynamic and inspiring form. The countries and institutions participating in the project will also strive to deepen the expert, cultural and touristic research of women's literature, but also of the places associated with the writers, which contributed to the imposition of European values.

The initiatives - from clubs to exhibitions throughout the year - are aimed at all age groups and communities, and women writers will be promoted with a special emphasis on the occasion of women's day and their birthdays.

The "Writers' Route" is the first such from Slovenia out of a total of 48 under the auspices of the Council of Europe. The project will receive an official certificate of purpose at the 11th Cultural Routes Consultative Forum in October this year. of Fr. Crete. Before that (from August 22 to 27), in cooperation with Sofia University, an international summer school will be held in Ljubljana under the title "The Intimate in Women's Creativity and Reading". On August 27, Associate Professor Dr. Nadezhda Alexandrova is scheduled to lead a workshop on "Emotional stories in the Ottoman context at the end of the 19th century."

The name of El. Bagryana's involvement in the initiative of the FSK and CE is no accident, since in the 1930s she was a frequent guest in what was then Slovenia, maintaining wide contacts with local intellectuals (which is why she was called the "Slovenian woman" in our country). In the Slovenian period of her work, the cycle of poems stands out, among which are "Slovenian evenings", "Nesebar dream", "Island", "Ship from Spain" and others. In 2018, in partnership with the embassy, an information panel in her memory was opened in front of the library in the town of Medvode, often visited by the grand lady of Bulgarian poetry.
