Opening of the exhibition "Diplomacy and Art II" on the occasion of the Day of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Service at the Museum of Literature and Performing Arts in Sarajevo
On 19.07.2022, on the occasion of the Day of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Service, the exhibition "Diplomacy and Art II" was opened at the Museum of Literature and Theater Art in Sarajevo, with the courtesy of the State Institute for Culture at the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the hosts from the museum in Sarajevo. The event was also dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Bulgaria's recognition of the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The official event was attended by Mr. Samir Karic, Foreign Policy Adviser to Minister Bisera Turkovic, the former member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ive Mire-Jovica, the Mayor of Kiseljak Mladen Misuric-Ramljak, the political advisor to the EUFOR Commander, the senior national representative of Bulgaria in the EUFOR mission "Althea" Ivan Ivanov and Bulgarian military personnel, the director of the winter festival in Sarajevo and chairman of the peace center Ibrahim Spasic, the director of the historical museum Elma Hasanbegovic, representatives of the diplomatic corps and a number of friends of Bulgaria.
In her address to the guests, Mrs. Mihneta Avdic, curator of the Museum of Literature and Performing Arts, stated that there is a long-standing cooperation with the Embassy of Bulgaria in Sarajevo. She also shared that she is extremely happy about the fact that she has the honor of opening this exceptional exhibition of Bulgarian artists, which is part of the fund of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria. It was emphasized that with the assistance of the embassy, an exhibition about the Bosnian writer Isak Samokovlia will be presented in the museum in the town of Samokov, where his family originates.
For his part, Ambassador Valery Yotov stated in his speech that art and cultural diplomacy are a connecting bridge between peoples and countries for the development of diplomatic and political relations between them, and that diplomacy is also an art - the art of possible compromise. He pointed out that the Embassy of Bulgaria in Sarajevo pays great attention in its activities to promote and acquaint the public of Bosnia and Herzegovina through cultural events with Bulgarian history, art and contribution to European civilization, as well as with the historical and cultural proximity between the two peoples .
The director of the State Cultural Institute, Mrs. Snezhana Joveva, told the guests that the exhibition "Diplomacy and Art II" is a representative project from the rich Art Fund of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the team from the State Cultural Institute of the Minister of Foreign Affairs selects works that show the role of the arts in diplomacy over the years, and that the exhibition is rich in themes, colors and style. Ms. Joveva stated that she was honored that after the success of the exposition in Cetinje, Montenegro, the exhibition visited Sarajevo at the invitation of the Museum of Literature and Performing Arts and the Bulgarian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The official opening of the exhibition was accompanied by a short cocktail with tasting of Bulgarian wines and drinks.
The exhibition at the Museum of Literature and Performing Art in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo will be open to visitors until July 29, inclusive.
