On March 30, in the prestigious Art Gallery "Mrs. Toolip Art Gallery ”in Barcelona, the exhibition “Faces of the Forest” by the young and talented Bulgarian sculptor Ventsislav Petrov was presented. Ventsislav graduated in sculpture at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia as a student in the class of Prof. Angel Stanev.

The event was organized by Ms. Montse Ferrer, a Catalan art critic, with the assistance of the Art Gallery "Mrs. Toolip Art Gallery ”and the support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Barcelona.

The exhibition consists of sculptural masks representing the faces of forest mythical images and tribal shamans, which depict the sadness of the forest from the bad attitude of the people towards it. The author's inspiration for the creation of these works comes from his stay in Malaysia, where he encountered extreme disregard for the protection of the environment and wildlife. The first public presentation of the exhibition took place in the capital of the island of Borneo (Malaysia) - Palangka Raya (Palangka Raya).

The official opening of the exhibition in Barcelona was attended by representatives of local art circles, intellectuals, art lovers, dozens of Bulgarian citizens, including those who came from Bulgaria and Britain to attend the event. The opening was accompanied by a special performance by the Catalan ballerina Clara Pla Ferrer, who currently lives in Bulgaria and is one of the stars of the State Opera - Stara Zagora.

The Consul General of Bulgaria in Barcelona Tsvetelin Tsolov shared with the numerous guests of the event his confidence that art is one of the most sustainable and easy ways to convey messages and build bridges, both between people and between different peoples and cultures.
