Bulgarian Participation in the Week of Francophone Cinema in Tunisia
With the kind assistance of the State Institute for Culture, the Bulgarian Embassy in the Republic of Tunisia took part in the Week of Francophone Cinema in Tunisia (March 21-27, 2022) with the Bulgarian documentary "To Love Carmen" by producer Nayo Titsin. The screening took place on March 24, 2022 at the Cinémathèque.
The film rediscovers Carmen's first performances and her place in art, literature, music and cinema. In parallel, "To Love Carmen" follows the rehearsal process of the production of the opera "Carmen" by Italian director Nicola Berlofa at the St. Gallen Theater in Switzerland and the search for soprano Alexandrina Pendachanska in the lead role.
The program of the Francophone Film Week includes films from Austria, Argentina, Belgium, Bulgaria, Gabon, Greece, Egypt, Cameroon, Canada, Senegal, Tunisia, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and France. The film festival was covered by the Tunisian media.
