The Documentary Exhibition "Light of the Letters" in Niagara Falls

13 panels dedicated to the Bulgarian alphabet will be exhibited in the Canadian city of Niagara Falls on the occasion of the 1150th anniversary of the Great Moravian Mission of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius. The initiative is of the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria and is conducted with the assistance of the Historical Museum in Niagara Falls.

The start of the initiative was given in the autumn of 2020, when the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Toronto started work on organizing and holding one of the most significant events for all Bulgarians - not only in the country but also around the world - lighting of Niagara Falls in the colors of the Bulgarian flag.

The documentary exhibition "Light of the Letters" was created on the initiative of the State Institute for Cultureunder the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the anniversary of the Slavic script. The collection was collected by the corresponding member of BAS, Prof. Aksinia Dzhurova and Assoc. Prof. Vasya Velinova, and the materials were provided with the assistance of the Elena and Ivan Duychevi Foundation and the Scientific Archive at BAS. The exhibition was createdin 2013 - the year declared by UNESCO as the year of Cyril and Methodius and the creation of the Slavic script.

The exhibition will be open to the public in Niagara Falls on September 6 and 7 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at 5810 Ferry Street | Niagara Falls, ON L2G 1S9 - Niagara Falls Museums - https://niagarafallsmuseums.ca/.
