On July 20 at the Triangular Tower of Serdica, a branch of the Regional History Museum of Sofia was opened the exhibition "EQUILIBRIUM/РАВНОВЕСИЕ: lyrical and expressive", presenting paintings, watercolors and drawings by two Bulgarian authors who develop their creative potential in our country, but also abroad - Alexander Telalim and Vassilen Vasevski. The exhibition is another of their joint appearances in front of the audience. Alexander was born in Bessarabia, but returned to his ancestral Bulgaria in 1995, and Vassilen settled in America in 1999. Their emigrant destinies differ, but also repeat in many ways. Living in another world helps them see themselves and their art in a new way. And to find universal themes that excite, to make people empathize with their spiritual discoveries.

The event, organized by the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Sofia Regional History Museum, was attended by many guests - artists, art critics, diplomats, representatives of state institutions and connoisseurs of fine arts in Bulgaria. Prof. Chavdar Popov opened the exhibition with the words: “The title, which is the motto of the exhibition, suggests that it is a matter of balance, although balance is almost always associated with two separate principles, which in no way imply equality. And here we are really talking about two different authors, different artists, and yet they are somehow connected in a kind of creative tandem. Vassilen Vasevski presents the more lyrical aspect of art, while the works of Alexander Telalim are more expressive, but the differences in the works of the two artists are reminiscent of the famous Chinese symbol Yin and Yang.

The director of the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad Prof. Iliya Gudzhenov presented the artists with diplomas, and the director of the State Institute for Culture Mrs. Snezhana Yoveva-Dimitrova presented the two artists with the catalog "Diplomacy and Art", presenting iconic works from the Art Fund of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The exhibition will be on view in the Triangular Tower of Serdica until August 22, 2021.
