11/02/10

An itinerant exhibition of photos “Traditions”, authored by Alexander Mikhailov for the State Institute of Culture, opened on February 9, 2010 on the premises of the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade, Serbia.
Bulgaria’s ambassador to Serbia Georgi Dimitrov, Serbia’s Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic and Museum Curator Vilma Niscanovjc, opened the exhibition.
Ambassador Dimitrov accentuated on the great similarity in traditional customs on both sides of the Bulgarian-Serb border, featured in the exhibition. Contacts between the two neighbouring countries have unfolded on all levels in the last few years, with no need for any boost from state bodies and government departments.
Minister Bradic voiced satisfaction over the exchange of cultural products between the two neighbouring countries and recalled that Days of Serb Culture were held in Bulgaria in late 2009.
Ethnographic Museum Curator Mrs. Niscanovjc pointed out cooperation between experts involved in the ethnography field in Serbia and Bulgaria went back a long way and that she herself had her own excellent experience in professional exchange with Bulgarian colleagues.
A documentary film” Against the stream” or” Musical dialogues on the Danube” by Bulgarian Zlatina Rousseva, was shown at the exhibition’s opening event. The film follows through the Danube Musical festival, staged in springtime 2007, aboard a passenger-ship going against the stream up the Danube River.
