The photo exhibition

Selected photographs from the "Directions" competition, organized by the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of its 15th anniversary, were presented in an exhibition that opened on September 1, 2020 in the capital's garden “Crystal”. The photographs interpret themes related to globalization, identity, intercultural dialogue and tolerance between different nations.

The opening was attended by many guests and lovers of photography, diplomats, directors of cultural institutes, artists and gallery owners, including the Ambassador of Spain HE Mr. Alejandro Polanco Mata, Ambassador of Kazakhstan HE Temirtai Izbastin, the US Cultural Attaché Mr. Brent LaRosa, the directors of the Hungarian and Czech Cultural Institutes and the Consul of the Slovak Republic Ms. Iva Marksfeldova. Other guests of the event were: the director of the Global Libraries Foundation Mrs. Spaska Tarandova, the executive director of the Regional Center for Cultural Heritage - Sofia Dr. Irena Todorova, the executive director of NDF "13th Century Bulgaria" Mrs. Slava Ivanova , the Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism Mrs. Krassimira Necheva, Mr. Kamen Balkanski from the National Film Center, as well as university professors and researchers - Prof. Aksinia Dzhurova, Prof. Anna Maria-Totomanova, Prof. Vasya Velinova, Prof. Vladimir Atanasov, Dr. Svetla Zlatarska, Dr. Ivelina Kyuchukova, Dr. Lyudmil Veselinov, Dr. Evelina Vardzhiyska, Dr. Mila Stareishinska-Angelova, Stanka Jeleva and many others - Bulgarians from Israel and Italy, partners of the institute and lovers of photography.

The director of the State Institute for Culture Mrs. Snezhana Yoveva-Dimitrova congratulated the winners in her official speech, and one of the members of the jury - Albena Atanasova (PhotoFactory Foundation) presented diplomas to the participants and winners of the competition: Minko Mihailov, "Walk at sunset", 2019 (first prize), Tanya Angelova, "School - Mali", 2009 (incentive prize), Georgi Mitev, "Starry Night over Paso Jau", 2019 (incentive prize).

Until September 14, 2020 in the exhibition can be seen photographs by: Ventsislav Petrov, Violeta Apostolova, Georgi Mitev, Elena Savova, Zlatko Latev, Ivan Nestorov, Izabela Manolova, Lilyana Karadjova, Minko Mihailov, Nikolay Alexiev, Plamen Hristov, Rosalia Malcheva, Tanya Angelova and Hristo Kracholov.
