Iranian translator participates in a ceremony, marking the 110th anniversary of the birth of Nikola Vaptsarov

      On 7 December 2019, a ceremony, marking the 110th anniversary of the birth of Nikola Yonkov Vaptsarov was held at the House-museum of the poet. The translator of the verse collection “Motor Songs” to Persian language Mr. Farid Ghadami participated in the ceremony via video-connection.

      Mr. Ghadami is an Iranian writer and translator of world-famous writers and poets including Vaptsarov. In the summer of 2019 he took part in a one month translation programme of “Next Page” Foundation with the support of the State Cultural Institute of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Bulgaria in Tehran.

      Due to his interest in Bulgarian literature he translated Vaptsarov’s poetry, and the poetic book of the Bulgarian author Virginia Zaharieva “The Hen with the Stitched Eye” to Persian and published in the summer of 2019. A collection of works of 7 Bulgarian authors, also translated by Mr. Ghadami is going to be published at the beginning of 2020.
