The exhibition "The Light of the Letters" in Cyprus

On January 28 the Bulgarian Embassy in Cyprus, along with the school in the town of Agia Varvara, organized a joint celebration dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius and the Day of Literacy, which in Cyprus is celebrated on January 30. During the celebration, there was a presentation of the documentary exhibition "Light of Letters" - a project by the Elena and Ivan Duichevi Foundation, part of the State Institute for Culture programme, "Travelling exhibitions". The exhibition was viewed with great interest by all 500 students from high school and other guests at the event. The Bulgarian participants explained the history and the content of the Bulgarian manuscripts included in the exhibition. Teachers at the high school will hold open lessons on the Cyrillic alphabet for pupils in the coming week.

Ambassador Hristo Georgiev, Cyprus's Minister of Education and Culture Costas Kadis and Metropolitan Isaias of Tamassos spoke of the work and contribution to global civilisation of Cyril and Methodius.
