CINEMA ON THE WALL

CINEMA ON THE WALL

“Cinema on the Wall” is a collection of facsimile copies of authentic original film posters created in Bulgaria with the now-forgotten poster art technique. The exhibition includes 50 posters of Bulgarian films shown in the country in the 1940s, 50s, 60s and 70s. The posters were made using lithography, and are in formats of about 70 x 50cm. The exhibition not only offers a look at poster art, but also gives an idea of the history and cultural traditions in film and graphic design in this country at the beginning of the 20th century.

The exhibition is dedicated to the late director Ivan Rossenov, who rescued the unique posters from a ruined warehouse, and his wife, the unforgettable actress Katya Paskaleva .

The exhibition is a project of the NGO KIT, the Bulgarian Film Archive Association. The retro posters were surveyed and selected by Yordan Radichkov and Ivan Chertov.
