The Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov opened the exhibition "Fragments of modern art in Montenegro from the collection of the National Museum", which is visiting Bulgaria for the first time on the initiative of the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs and with the assistance of the Bulgarian Embassy in Podgorica.

In his welcoming remarks, Minister Kondov defined the implementation of this initiative as proof of the strong cultural-historical ties between Bulgaria and Montenegro, and their importance for building friendly cooperation in the field of culture and all other areas of mutual interest.

"The long-standing cultural partnership between our countries over the years has been reflected in numerous exhibitions presented both in Bulgaria and Montenegro and carried out with the assistance of the State Institute for Culture, the Bulgarian Academy of Science, the National Library "St. St. Cyril Methodius" and the respective Montenegrin cultural institutions", the minister pointed out in the light of the rich cultural ties between Bulgaria and Montenegro and the future potential for joint activities in the field of culture.

The director of the State Institute for Culture, Snezhana Yoveva, emphasized that the visiting of the exhibition from Montenegro is a continuation of the fruitful partnership and the successful presentation a year ago of an exhibition of paintings from the Art Fund of the MFA - "Diplomacy and Art" in the contemporary art gallery in Cetinje to the National Museum of Montenegro.

The exhibition presented paintings and sculptures by artists who played a very important role in the development of Montenegrin fine art at the end of the second half of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. A special guest at the opening was Daniela Djurović, Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro, who outlined the development of Montenegrin art and expressed gratitude to the organizers for the visit. The director of the National Museum Yaksha Chalasan was also present at the event, as were the ambassadors of the Republic of Bulgaria in Podgorica H.E. Stefan Dimitrov, the previous ambassador there H.E.
