Contemporary Art from Kosovo Is Visiting Sofia

The best of Kosovo's contemporary art comes to Bulgaria as part of the NEXT Balkan series for cooperation and exchange between the Balkans of the DOMA Art Foundation. "Club Insistence: After a Party" is a group exhibition with the participation of Kosovo artists Atdhe Behluli, Laureta Hajrullahu, Arbnor Karaliti, Leart Rama, Mimoza Sahiti, and Yll Xhaferi with curator Hana Halilaj, who come to Sofia especially for the event. The exhibition has gathered works in various media and themes related to the happenings and visits of clubs as a fleeting catharsis, a necessity and an act of transgression against the larger political and socio-economic factors that push to a state of physical and emotional isolation.

The event opens at 6:00 pm on October 27 at Toplocentrala - Regional Center for Contemporary Arts with a reception, including a special selection of wines from Kosovo and in the presence of HE. Mr. Delfin Pllana - Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Bulgaria and will continue in a more informal setting from 8:30 pm at the DOZA Gallery with a special screening of the film and a conversation with artist Leart Rama.

The program of the event also includes two conversations on October 28, Friday, 6:00 pm at Toplocentrala and on October 29, Saturday, 2:00 pm at DOZA Gallery with the participation of the artists from Kosovo and the curator Hannah Khalila, together with people from the Bulgarian art circles and leading specialists on the development, cooperation and exchange between the Balkan countries.

On November 02, at 6:00 pm, the third exhibition with a diplomatic focus will be open at the Mission Gallery of the State Institute for Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria as part of the program Balkan Dialogues. After that a selection of the works will be shown at the newly opened gallery of the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Bulgaria, where it will remain until the end of the year.

The project is implemented with the support of the National Culture Fund, the Embassy of Kosovo in the Republic of Bulgaria, the State Institute for Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
