PRESENTATION OF PUBLICATIONS OF THE INSTITUTE OF BALKAN STUDIES WITH THE CENTER FOR THRACOLOGY

On June 8, 2022 (Wednesday) from 17:30 in the gallery "Mission" at the State Institute for Culture were presented the latest editions of the Institute of Balkan Studies with the Center for Thracology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences: the album "101 Paintings from Bulgaria", the collective monographs "The City of the Balkans: Spaces, Images, Memory", and "The Royal Cinnamon Flower in Thracian and Roman Culture in the Bulgarian Lands", as well as the jubilee edition of Studio Tracica, prepared on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Thracology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

The event was opened by Ms. Snezhana Yoveva, Director of the State Institute for Culture, who expressed her joy at the opportunity for the two institutes to work together. The publications were presented by Prof. Dr. Rumyana Preshlenova, Director of the Institute of Balkan Studies. She noted that the most exciting edition is the album "101 paintings from Bulgaria", which includes works by architect Belin Mollov, recreating significant sites in Bulgaria. The book also has an English version. It includes remarkable architectural monuments and presents 20 architects - 10 Bulgarian and 10 European. "The albums are a great memory from Bulgaria for our compatriots living outside the homeland. They bear the mark of creativity, inspiration and beauty. Bulgaria has been recreated in a beautiful and exciting way, "said Ms. Preshlenova.

The Institute of Balkan Studies with the Center for Thracology "Prof. Alexander Fol is a major research center nationwide and a coordinator for Balkan Studies in Southeast Europe. At the end of the event, the two institutes signed a memorandum of partnership. They will unite their efforts in carrying out joint activities in the field of culture, in presenting and promoting various initiatives and projects and in promoting the development of creative activity and cultural diplomacy.
