PHOTO EXHIBITION "30 YEARS SINCE THE INDEPENDENCE OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN"

11/03/21

Due to the epidemiological situation, the exhibition will be extended until April 16, 2021.

The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in partnership with the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs is organizing a photo exhibition on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the declaration of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is celebrated on December 16 this year.

Exactly on 16 December 1991, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, expressing the will of the people of Kazakhstan, recognizing the supremacy of the rights and freedoms of the individual enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 10 December 1948, declaring its commitment to the principle of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and the disarmament process, solemnly proclaimed the state independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and adopted the Constitutional Law "On the State Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

Over the years, Kazakhstan has distinguished itself as a sovereign state with a national economy that marks growth, political stability, peace and understanding among citizens of all nationalities and religions. The country has established friendly, equal and mutually beneficial relations with 183 countries around the world, intergovernmental associations and international organizations on the basis of such principles of foreign policy as multi-vector, pragmatism, proactivity and multilateralism. On August 29, 1991, by decree of the first president N. Nazarbayev, the world's largest Semipalatinsk nuclear test site was closed. Since declaring its independence, Kazakhstan has voluntarily renounced the world's fourth largest arsenal of nuclear weapons and continues to be one of the most active supporters of a world without nuclear weapons.

The photographs, which will be presented at the exhibition, reflect the development of Kazakhstan in the years since independence and show the tolerance of Kazakhstan's multinational society.

The initiative is implemented by the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs and aims to activate the representative space on the 7th floor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by visiting mobile (poster or photographic) exhibitions from diplomatic missions, cultural institutes and regional museums, galleries. The visit to the exhibition will take place after pre-registration on tel. 0886966416, due to the need to comply with epidemic measures.
