FINALISTS FROM THE NATIONAL POSTER COMPETITION VISIT THE MISSION GALLERY

As part of the initiatives on the occasion of 65 years of Bulgaria's membership in the UN and 75 years since the establishment of the organization, the State Institute for Culture will host an exhibition - finalists of the national poster competition "Kostadin Otonov" in the gallery "Mission".

The first exhibition with selected posters from the third national competition "Poster - Kostadin Otonov" will be arranged from July 9, 2020 in the gallery "Mission" of the State Institute for Culture to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria - 2 Alfred Nobel Str. , Sofia. The exposition will present the first ten nominated posters from the official jury, which interpret and cover important topics on the occasion of the anniversaries - 65 years of Bulgaria - a member of the United Nations and 75 years since the founding of the United Nations.

The poster competition has become a traditional cultural event, which is an important part of the calendar of art schools at the Ministry of Culture in Bulgaria.

First prize of the Ministry of Culture was won by Nadezhda Boyanova from NHG "Tsanko Lavrenov". Second prize of the Ministry of Culture was awarded to Nikol Petrova, NGPI "St. Luka", and third prize went to Victoria Yordanova, NGPI "St. Luka". The Kostadin Otonov Award was won by Ventsislav Nanov from NGPI "St. Luka". Nikol Petrova from NGPI "St. Luka" is also the winner of the award of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The award of the Plovdiv District Administration goes to Nadezhda Boyanova from the National Art Gallery "Tsanko Lavrenov", and the award of the Municipality of Plovdiv was won by Nina Vracheva from the Plovdiv Art High School. Victoria Ilieva from NHG "Ts. Lavrenov" and Dara Traycheva from NGPI "St. Luka" received incentive awards.

Voting for the III National Competition "Poster - Kostadin Otonov" for art schools at the Ministry of Culture was held remotely in two stages on June 18 and 19, 2020 through an online evaluation system on the official website of NHG "Tsanko Lavrenov". All competition works were selected and voted by a competent jury, which included: representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Ralitsa Bazaitova - Chief Expert at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, specialists from Plovdiv District Administration, Plovdiv Municipality and Municipal Institute "Ancient Plovdiv", ch. assistant Dr. Nenko Atanasov and Ch. Assistant Dr. Svetlin Balezdrov from the National Academy of Arts, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Gyoshev from AMTII, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krassimira Drumeva - VTU "St. St. Cyril and Methodius", Kostadin Otonov and Petar Chuchuligov from NHG "Tsanko Lavrenov", Ralitsa Karapanteva from NGPI "St. Luka", representatives of NUMSI, lecturers from NPGPF, a team from NHG "Dimitar Dobrovich" and graphic designers Vulkan Valkanov and Hristo Gochev.

The competition is organized by the National Art High School "Tsanko Lavrenov" - School of Arts at the Ministry of Culture and with the kind assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria. The selection included 59 posters of students aged 14 to 18 (grades 8 to 11) from art schools at the Ministry of Culture.

The exhibition is open for visits to the "Mission" Gallery from 10 am to 5 pm every working day from July 9 until July 17, in compliance with all requirements for distance and disinfection.
