'The Return' at the Mission Gallery

The photographic exhibition "The Return" by Violeta "Leti" Apostolova opened at the State Institute for Culture's Mission Gallery on June 20.
On 20 June, the photographic exhibition "Return" of Violeta Apostolova - Leti was opened at the Mission "Gallery of the State Cultural Institute. The Return Project presents a series of portraits of migrant people in search of better lives and more adventures.
The exhibition is the final event in the Fotofabrika 2017 programme and a debut show for Violeta Apostolova. The pictures were shot between 2010 and 2016, capturing the portraits of people who left their homelands - Italy, France, Colombia, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine. But their homelands never left them.
A picture says more than 1000 words, Lyudmila Dimitrova, Director of the State Institute for Culture, said in her speech, adding that cultural diplomacy communicates with the general public on socially important topics, as this exhibition communicates with the audience with important public messages such as travel and seeking.
Despite the long-standing partnership between the State Cultural Institute and Fotofabrika, this is the first joint event in the Mission Gallery, said Emmy Baruch, director of Fotofabrika. She expressed confidence that this good start of co-operation would develop further in future joint events.
The Return exhibition will remain in the Mission Gallery until July 7 2017.
