'Ancient Messages' Exhibition at the Mission Gallery

20/05/17
On May 18, the exhibition "Ancient Messages", part of a large-scale project by the organisers of the Sofia Paper Art Festival and the founders of the AMATERAS Foundation, Todor Todorov and Daniela Todorova, was opened at the Mission Gallery, with a small number of exhibits and a few short films, as a sample of the large-scale project.
Through their works the authors unite on a common concept related to the spiritual, cultural and natural heritage of Bulgaria and its deep connection with different traditions and cultures around the world. The title of the "Ancient Messages" exhibition directs the viewer to the creative ideas of the artists.
Addressing the guests at the exhibition opening, State Institute for Culture Director Lyudmila Dimitrova emphasised that AMATERAS Foundation's projects help to deal with our concerns that at a time of globalisation, the small culture of the small state has no chance to survive.
It is precisely such projects that seek the link and interaction with other cultures and world cultural heritage to disprove this hypothesis and direct their audiences to the content of the messages and offer answers to questions that concern us all. AMATERAS Foundation's projects are distinguished by itheir communicativeness and adaptability to different spaces and audiences. It is for this reason that the State Institute for Culture has recognised the Amatereas Foundation as its partner, to fulfill the cultural programme of the Institute with the contemporary content and messages.
A special presentation for representatives of diplomatic missions in Sofia and foreign cultural institutes will be held in June, which will aim to present the ideas and key messages of the Cultural Program of the Bulgarian EU Council Presidency in 2018.
The exhibition "Ancient Messages" is on at the Mission Gallery from May 18 to May 31.
